Windows service allows multiple events on a timer? [duplicate]

I have a windows service that executes some tasks that could be long than 5 seconds. In this service I have a timer that "fires" every 5 seconds. If the first task executed by the timer did not finish after 5 seconds, the timer executes anyway the following task or it's "freezed"? Thank you
