Defining project name inside docker-compose configuration
Can you actually define the project name inside the compose configuration file itself, rather than as an environment variable or command-line flag? I suspect it may avoid some trouble in some scenarios. I guess overriding that name might still be possible by env or flag.
Not yet (as of version 1.6.2), however, it is being discussed https://github.com/docker/compose/issues/745
You can (Just in one of the branches for now). From the documentation: The default project name is the basename of the project directory. But you can set it in docker-compose.yml, to make sure that all of your team members will use the same project name by default. If you set project name by using the -p command line option or the COMPOSE_PROJECT_NAME environment variable, then it will be overriden with given value.
